3. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Technologies

The Service may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other automated technologies to provide personalized learning experiences, study recommendations, educational support, and platform functionality, including our StudyBuddy and Parent Advisor features.

• StudyBuddy is an AI-based chat feature that may give your child conversational hints on the exam question they are currently working on. It is not provided the correct answer, mark scheme, or explanation, and does not have access to other topics, exams, or open-ended conversation. Parents can enable or disable this feature at any time from Profile Settings.
• Parent Advisor is an AI-based chat feature that summarizes a child's exam history and progress for the parent or guardian on that account.
• To provide these features, exam questions and a limited set of performance data are processed by a third-party AI service provider (currently Google's Gemini models). This data is used to generate a response and is not used by us to train third-party AI models.
• AI-generated content and recommendations are automated and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete; they are intended to support, not replace, human judgment and instruction.

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except:

• To process payments (with payment processors like Stripe)

Our AI-based StudyBuddy feature is designed with additional safeguards for children: it is never given the correct answer, mark scheme, or explanation, and it only ever discusses the single question a child is currently working on. Parents can disable StudyBuddy at any time from Profile Settings.

We retain your data as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain anonymized usage data for educational research purposes.
